I watched my first Stanley pre season friendly today v Chesterfield.
Good to see Jay Rich Baghuelo in action but he will need a good run of matches to get up to full fitness and to get match ‘sharp’.
Of the new players I was quite impressed with centre back Brad Hills. He looked fit, quick and played with a good brain. He also scored a cracking header in the second half before being subbed. I will reserve judgement on commenting on the other three newbies.Chesterfield definitely looked more like a ‘team unit’ than Stanley. I thought that some of our home bred youngsters looked comfortable when they came on in the second half.
It was good to get back on the Clayton End to join in the critical shouts at the referee who was totally useless!
Some things just don’t change eh!
