Friendly match……
Stanley 2-0 York City.
First half was somewhat ‘lack lustre’ IMHO.
York played more like a team whereas Stanley did not really develop any flowing football. The second half saw several stops for substitutions which I think disrupted York’s play more than it did Stanley.
The extra physicality of Adedoyin made a big difference as did the attacking flair of Longelo and the pace of Whalley too. Adedoyin scored a good goal. Josh Woods also added pace and pressure on the York defence and he too scored a good goal. I was again quite impressed with the performance of on loan centre back Brad Hills. He is confident, skillful, strong and has a calm demeanor. He was awarded the MOTM award.
Really looking forward to the first League match next Saturday v Newport County.
I hope the Stanley Faithful get fully behind the team and we can get off to a winning start.
