We just treat even the PEGI ratings as "law". If you don't look old enough to have the game, you don't get it. Most children have, or can get a Citizenship card to prove how old they are, so we see it as they have very little excuse for not having proof of age these days.
And if its a dimwitted parent that is buying the game for their devious little darlings we just make it very clear to the parent what the game involves. At least we have done all we can do on our part.
