So THAT explains it  Blackburn have recently redone the lanes on the roundabout at J.6 (M65) and if you come from the direction of Rishton and intend going on the the ring road all hell breaks out unless you know in advance the lanes on the roundabout!
You need to go almost right round so you start by crossing over to the inner lane (easy so far) As you go round, the theory is that your lane gradually moves to the outside....WRONG! Another inner lane suddenly appears which you need to move into but if you remain in the same lane you are forced off onto the B567? unless you are brave enough to swing your vehicle suddenly over to the right with the danger of side swiping another vehicle! Hard to explain, but if you are local, give it a try
