I could see her point of view regarding the other children how they needed to be allowed to chill out.
I hate mess and my kids will tell you that I'm always complaining about not wanting to live in a pig sty and going on at them to tidy up. "I'm fighting a losing battle." is one of my stock phrases along with "Every step forward I take you drag me back two!"
I believe they should do some share of the housework too because it teaches them responsibility but getting up at 5am to clean??? That is extreme! And the loo brush is only there for show? Purleeese!
BUT, I also totally agreed that young children being left to wake up alone could be very dangerous because you never know what they could get up to. The knife and scissors could have been lethal.
I loved the look on the faces of the other kids though when they had a chores free week and allowed to let their friends in.
Also I would never go through their things like that. They are entitled to some privacy. Shame they didn't all get to keep their keys.
