The law states that if you are clocked at driving at over 100 mph it is an AUTOMATIC ban. How long the ban is for is left to the discretion of the Judge. I saw the photographs. This guy was driving amongst lanes of other traffic. There was little or nothing he could have done to avoid an accident if someone else made the slightest mistake, however good a driver he is. As for being the creme de la creme of driving, anyone who drives at that speed on a public road is a crap driver, whatever his or her "skills" are supposed to be.

The Institute of Advanced Motorists states "The only true test of skill is safety". The only reason this lunatic didn't kill himself and several others is pure luck. Skill had little or nothing to do with it. Perhaps if I ever get a speeding ticket, I can claim that I am an advanced motorist, and therefore the rules do not apply to me. What do you think my chances are of getting away with it?
