Unfortunatly, Margaret, tough decisions have to be made. Why should scarce funds be spent on artificially prolonging the life of someone when the same resources could be diverted, to say, an oncology department? The earlier cancer is caught and treated, the higher the chances of survival. Surely funding in the NHS should go to where it can do the most good?
