Re: London Underground explosions

Although as a nation we are sometimes accused of showing very little national pride, on St. Goeorges day for instance, it's at times like these when our real national identity comes to the fore.

We are the same people who survived the Blitz and the IRA.

As a tv bystander, unlike the two members here who were sadly more closely involved, just watching the heroic acts of the emergency services and members of the public, and the calm way people looked to be reacting after initial shock made me realise we will win.

Having lived in London for 17 years and having heard three bombs explode, the Soho bomb being whilst in the same street, l can understand a little of what happened yesterday. Unfortunatly it won't be just about yesterday.

Everytime somebody leaves a bag of rubbish on the tube, be it a Macdonalds bag or a carrier bag, the tube will be closed down resulting in more disruption.

The company l worked for in London also saw our profits fall by over 60% in the two years after the first Gulf War as Americans stayed away from Europe, it was a similar after 9/11.

The infra structure of this great city is very delicate, happily it's people aren't.
