The death penalty is a good idea in theory but look at the USA. The states which have the death penalty have no uniformity as to its use. You are more likely to be put to death in some of the southern states than in the northern penalty carrying counterparts. In some states it takes anything between 10-15 years on death row before you are actually put to death. It costs millions more in legal appeals and the fees for these services paid for by the state, than it does just to keep somebody incarcerated for life.
Maybe we should have life sentences which mean life......
No perks in prisons....... I would love to see our prisons in the hands of that American chappie whos name slips my mind...
