Thongs are down.
Sales of thongs are down by 20% on last year, and at Harvey Nichols the sales of them have slumped by 43%.
I know in another thread I made my point clear that professionally I think people should be able to wear what they feel comfortable in, but I'm glad that this is a trend that is coming to an end.
I have nothing against ladie's underwear of this type being worn, or in deed some men, as witnessed by Peter Stringfellow or reportedly David Beckham. It's just that I don't particularly want to see it.
Sadly in Accrington today I saw many a well upholsterd derriere in low slung jeans, a crop top and a glimpse of lacy thong/cheese cutter. Most of these seemed to be accessorised by a Dunlop belt.
I suppose it's not too bad today as the sun was shining, but I've seen girls out in the sleet and rain in the same attire. When they get to middle age and have lumbago or arthritis, they'll wished they'd have worn a vest or a Liberty bodice.
