Me & Wingy and five other engineers from Emersons were listening to the game when we returned from work at 7:30pm, at our hotel in Reims. The hotels has Wi-fi so we had Test Match Special on my laptop, whilst we had a cold one in the bar. I don't think the frogs had a clue what we were getting so worked up about.

It was one hell of a finish; almost as good as any game when Lancashire beat the Yorkies.

If I hadn't been working in France, i would have been at all five days of the test match. Lettie would have been a cricket widow for the duration of the game. Only the lord knows how big my hangover would have been if England had beaten the Aussies.
