Haydn Wood - British Light Music

Haydn Wood (1882-1959) was born in Slaithwaite , Huddersfield , where I work .

He is one of the great tradition of British (indeed , English) composers of light music , and his melodies are instantly recognisable by several generations of music-lovers who know the tune very well but ". . . can't quite put a name to it".

The CD which I own is on the NAXOS label , Number 8.223402
