Finding fault with others seems to be a British pastime, and if someone is in the public eye they get the wort of it.

The newspaper I buy has lots of news in it and lots of interesting articles. Like Margaret I enjoy reading the letters too. In fact that's the first page I usually turn to. I don't actually read the "celebrity gossip" bits or the "soap opera news" if there is any and which isn't even news for goodness sakes, it isn't real and I have to say that I find most other tabloid type newspapers have more of the latter. I'm not saying there isn't some of it in the newspaper I buy but if I buy it to read other things how does the paper know what sells and what doesn't? Stopping buying the paper altogether wouldn't solve the problem and besides I'd miss my sudoku.

I think I'm waffling.

I suppose writing to the paper to tell them we really don't find all that nonsense to be newsworthy and don't appreciate them when they criticise at every given opportunity might help.
