The council was intended to replace the much-derided UN Human Rights Commission, which includes notorious human rights abusers such as Sudan and Zimbabwe. But without firm guidelines on how the new body will be made up, there is every chance of those travesties being repeated.

The UN is powerless unless the big 5 USA Russia China France and GB can agree on how to tackle something. Instead they go their own way to protect their intrests. China will not agree to anything to do with human rights Russia and the US use what bits they want and as for France and GB they have about as much bite as a 48hr old baby. As for terrorism at one time or another they have all backed it in one form or another.
