Re: Why no statues in Accy?
It does seem odd that a town of such wealthy nineteenth century indusrialists didn't lumber upon their downtrodden workers great edifices of themselves for their workers to appreciate in Accrington.
Perhaps they were wiser than we thought thought, and used their vast wealth to build sumptuous summer palaces in the Scottish countryside, away from their loyal serfs. How thoughtful.
