I find its a less key presses to do 'normal' text than txtspk with predictive text. e.g. gr8 takes 8 presses yet great takes only 5! l8r takes 10 yet later is again 5.
Then again people send text after text having a psuedo converstaion when they could say everything in 20 secs and normally they have a cartload of free minutes to use.
