I'm probably going to go against the grain here but I have no objection to them making money from some of the ATM machines. I WILL object if the banks and building societies start charging from bank premises but I don't object to a charge when they're in shops or garages. The thing is that shops have to give up floor space which means that they lose sales, someone has to maintain them and make sure they're full. Plus they need security to ensure that no one can get into them. It's just enterprise - if you don't want to pay to withdraw your money go to the bank's hole in the wall, don't wait until you're in a shop to do it.
