Scale of compensation.

One of the victims of the London bombings Garri Holness, is seeking £50,000 compensation from the Government for the loss of a leg.

He has been praised for his bravery, and along with meeting Tony Blair and Michael Howard, he presented a 10,000 name petition to Downing Street calling for more compensation for the victims of 7/7. He was also due to turn on the Christmas lights in Streatham, South London.

It has since come to light that Garri Holness was convicted in 1985 of the gang rape of two sixteen year old girls. They were raped forty five times.

The man has served his sentence, but should he be entitled to £50,000 compensation?

The girls are probably still serving their sentence, and trying to live with what happened to them. The current guide for compensation for victims of gang rape is £13,000.
