I know it sounds double dutch to me too. The media & those against the new laws reckon alcohol sales will increase by as much as £500.000. What I would like to know is where will this money come from? People will only have the same money to spend when the law comes in. To me it will just give more choice of when to spend it. The only people to possibly gain from this are the night workers whose body clock works opposite to day workers, they will be able to 'go for a pint' after work

Debbie I am not trying to make it a debate of who is for or against extended licensing hours we all have our own views on that.

What I am trying to make a point of is, why introduce the relaxed laws if at the same time the landlords are to be put in a position where they can be harshly penalised if they take advantage of the said relaxation!
