Re: How competitive are you?

I don’t play games as such although I use to when I was younger. I don’t do things to compete in the traditional sense, like yesterday I knew that the conditions where not the best and certainly not in my favour, but I went on regardless, I got a bollocking for not when I got home but I find it difficult to back off from situations that basically come down to battles of will. A couple of years ago I set out against myself to stop smoking after 30 years and won, apart from two or three drags (best I ever had) last year I’ve never smoked since. I don’t think it’s very sensible or big, in fact it’s stupid, I’ve gone head long into situations that I shouldn’t have and not backed off when I should have, but I am talking about physical situations. Things like arguments I have little time for, if there’s something to be said get it done, puffing up and flashing your tail feathers just leaves people looking like silly. I don’t like people who play the game and cry foul when it doesn’t go their way, or people who resort to back handed tactics or bullying just to get the upper hand. However, I have a lot of time for those who fight on in the face of it and still maintain an air of dignity whatever the adversity. They don’t have to win to come out on top. They win regardless due to the spirit in which they competed.
