Doug I agree with all your points. I have had the pleasure of working along side Rossendale Fell and Mountain and Bolton Mountain Rescue on several jobs and find that they have a very good way of working to get injured people down to the waiting Ambulance(s). If everyone going hill walking did the same as you there could be less call-outs for those groups. Suppose I could say the same about people that have bumps in their car or fallen downstairs and been injured in that it would reduce the workload for me and my colleagues but cant see that happening can you?
As to the main part of th thread I taught both my sons to play chess and boy did they lap-it-up when they beat me lol
