Everyone raved about it, but I thought it was just dire. It could have been so good, but it just went for the lowest comic, common denominator all the way through.
It could have really said something poigniant about the demise of British industry, and the emasculation of the once working man. Most people would have even missed that the character played by Hugo Speers, [the well endowed one,] was gay, except for one brief line when he declared his love for the ginger one. It certainly didn't have the whimsical charm of Calender Girls.
Vastly over rated. Never again.
