Got back from the boozer and fished an album out from the depths of my collection that I haven't played for donkeys' years. It's called "Down By The Jetty" by Doctor Feelgood and it's a prime slice of no-holds-barred British R&B (REAL R&B, that is, not today's plastic variety). The band were from some obscure place called Canvey Island and the cover shows them standing on the Canvey shoreline, looking like used car dealers or extras from "Minder". Wonder what made me think of Canvey Island?
