When he walked out on Blackburn I was shocked but not sorry to see him go.

He had 'taken the club as far as he could' (to use a common excuse for when someone quits). He'd lead us to promotion and Europe and a league cup win but then lost the plot when he fell out with more than a few players (a practice that has continued at Newcastle).

In reality he did us a favour. The Geordies weren't too happy at seeing him move to St James's Park and many Rovers fans were relieved to see him go.

Had he stayed I am convinced we would have been relegated by now.
