All seems a little extreme, doesn't it? Pubs and restaurants have been attempting this policy for years. Just wondering how long The Calder can live with it.
We all know possibly that they are hoping to attract a more 'civilised' clientele ... however, someone in pair of designer trousers is just as likely to smash you over the head with a bottle as designer trainers wearers. Or are they .. perhaps wouldn't wish to mark their trousers ?
Think perhaps during the day looking for business people at work who will spend more on their expense accounts? The group ( ? and Jones ?) must have spent lots of cash surveying this issue on dress code. Wonder how the other pubs in their chain survive ? Would be interesting to get their point of view on this question.
Do they have a 'warning' on the door before you enter? as sure Mez and Co. were embarrased too by their expultion from these premises, must have made you feel lower than low, eh ?
