He's actually saying that judgements are made by the people and by god, not by one man deciding to go to war.
Talk about twisting words, what an idiot, giving amunition like that to the press. He might of known if he brought faith into it, he'd get ripped apart. God is so open to interpretation, it's a riduculas thing to do.
