Spuggie, you didn't say what aspect of the 18th century. Does the school want a general picture of the century or are they to focus on just one or two events? Obviously, there was a lot going on then. You had the American war of Independence, the French Revolution, colonisation of Australia and the beginnings of the British Industrial Revolution just for starters. I'm sure you'd find loads of information about all of them on the internet or in a library.
History is one of my hobbies so if I can help with pinpointing events please let me know. It's easier to search the internet if you have a reference point to start with and I'd enjoy helping you to find out.
