Don't forget all the shops in Ossy where you can get a tan (now that you can't get an all-over orange from the brook anymore). We moan about not having such shops, but it is largely our fault - we chose to shop at the supermarkets, to the detriment of the little shops, and now we are paying the price. There are only two butchers in Ossy now, and how many of us use them? - or just nip down to Asda or the market? I must admit I use the market but I do make a point of using my local butcher for some things. The market is a great resource for meat, fruit and vegetables, cheese, etc, most of which I'd rather get from there than some faceless supermarket. The shopping experience takes longer, but is far better, because there are all the stallholders to chat to. There used to be a thriving fishmarket, but now there are only two fish stalls - because people stopped buying. If we want little shops, we have to be prepared to use them, rather than save a bit by going to the supermarket.
