I think thats the term. I heard about it a few years ago, dont know if it is still running. Basically, there was a booklet (pre www) filled with peoples names who were part of the scheme. You had to offer a service
for free in exchange for something you wanted doing ie, a haircut for some joinery etc im not explaining this very well, sorry.
For example, if i wanted a gate built in the garden, i would ring someone on the list who could do it and then i would owe them a service.
