Going to a meet is nothing to do with increasing your karma, it's to do with having a good night out.

We've got AccyWeb members who live too far away to get to a meet, even ones who live abroad, but they have high karma. This is because they post something worthwhile which other people agree with and give them karma for it. It's nothing to do with being "in with the in crowd".

If you come along to a well established forum as a new member and then proceed to criticise that forum it's hardly surprising if some of the people who have enjoyed their membership for a year or several end up feeling a bit miffed and deduct you some karma.
