Didn't see the programme, but some year back read the book "Beyond Belief", which is the factual account of the Moors murders. Hindley was evil, there is no doubt. Proof of that, beyond what they did, is that they have never revealed whether or not they killed that poor little lad whose mother still doesn't konw what happened to him. It's odds on they did, but neither has ever revealed where he is buried. They got caught only because they made the mistake of involving Hindley's brother in law at their last murder. As soon as he left their house, he called the police. They would have carried on their foul "leisure activities" otherwise.
If Hindley had ever been let out, there would have been a queue, and I (though usually a peaceful sort) would have been well to the front. Perhaps we should have let her out before she died, then she would perhaps have realised just how normal people felt about her (shortly before being torn to pieces, of course).
