Re: See no Evil

We should remind ourselves that messrs. Hindley & Brady failed to dangle from the end of Pierrepoint's rope by no more than a year or so, the death penalty being under suspension prior to it's abolition. Why was this so?

The answer is because of a clamouring from the trendy liberal lefties of the day over alleged miscarriages of justice; one cause celebre stands out - that of James Hanratty, the A6 murderer. The same media coverage could be seen then as seen now, beginning with a dramatised reconstruction of a crime, followed by question marks over the prosecution case, followed by court of appeal, etc, etc, until the case is proven unsound.

All the trendies in Hanratty's case fell over each other in unearthing dodgy evidence to substanciate his alibi of being 200 miles away from the scene of the murder. Unfortunatly, they did not take account into advances in DNA detection. Once his body was dug up by special court order & samples taken a perfect match was found. Guilty as charged!

Hindley may be dead; but Brady is alive & now joined by the likes of Huntley, who of course should also have been strung up. I wonder, though, how long it will be before we see a drama documentary on the events in Soham?
