I've watched the 2 episodes with my daughter who was in tears, particularly at the end when the photos of the children were shown.

I remember the case and the trial, my 2 older children were not much more than babies at the time. I had been in favour of the abolition of hanging until then but I felt that if ever there was a case for the death penalty that was it.

I thought the TV programme was well made but just one bit of casting rather spoiled it. The senior uniformed police officer was played by the same actor who played one of the dodgy policemen in the comedy "Early Doors". He's a good actor but it seemed to be rather an insensitive bit of casting.
