What a choice, eh ? Right on our doorstep, trick is to find somewhere away from the traffic.

Always Edisford Bridge, but too many people.

Did the Trough of Bowland run many times, stop off in the dip for picnic and ice cream and dip in the River, then off through Lancaster to Morecambe to visit Happy Mount Park.

Bolton Abbey great (as suggested), but take a waterproof ground sheet, meadow there a little soggy.

Love to hear where you finish up.
