Re: (Not one singlies) how did you....
Heh,
Other side of the fence now....................
Monday 4th April, meant to be my day off but got 'conned' into working(at Spread Eagle, Barrow) I was the assistant manager at the time. Anyway, I turned up for work, boss sodded off out for the day! I was REALLY peed off. Anyway she returned at about 5 and said shed be back down in 10 mins to take over. I said in that case I'm off, grabbed my coat and did one. Called in at some friends at the Gamecock on teh way home. Had a pint but couldn't have any more as I was driving so went home. As I walked through teh door my mum (god bless her) started nagging, it went on and on and on so I said I'm off to the pub! At the time I occasionally went in the George when not working and it was about as close to a local as I had. I also knew Simon quite well and knew he was working so thought I'd at least have him to chat to.
Went in and there was a disco or something on so I parked my backside at the end of teh bar and started supping. About an hour later two young ladies came in that I didn't recognise( I knew pretty much everyone else in there) and one in particular caught my eye. Anyways I asked Simon who they were. He said if you buy her a drink I'll get her sisters. I responded OK but don't say who they are from,(I'm quite shy really!!!!). Anyway that was done. about an hour later Simon asked me if he could ask me a question about business(I knew he was interested in opening his own place) and said he didn't want to talk over the bar. He said, pop up to the restaurant and I'll be up shortly so I trundled up there and sat down. a couple of minutes later he arrives with Julie in tow. Lights went down and the rest is history.
The Bowling was another set up to make sure we saw each other again but it wasn't needed, We saw each other nearly every day since.
