Re: Flag flying at Funeral Directors

Why is flying the Flag for whatever reason disrespectful to the dead?

The person flying it obviously feels that he/she has something to be proud of, yes, the business of dealing with and preparing the dead for their final resting place is a sad one.
But surely flying the flag is in a way a celebration of continuing life!

If you support your nation and any of your nations teams' efforts why should you be barred from showing it? (no matter what your trade is).
I would think that if you actually asked at the undertakers they will probably be willing to explain why they display this flag with the obvious pride that they do, it is far better so far as I can see to have this patriotic fervour displayed in this manner than when I was a child some forty odd years ago where the only time our flag was ever flown was from a church steeple.
I hope that many, many other businesses, shops, communities etc will join in with this, not just for the football, (something I only watch rarely but I do enjoy the world cup hype), but for all things that we as a country can take pride in.
