Over here in NZ,up in Auckland in fact(not really a part of REAL NZ
),there is a speedway track that has been going for 70 odd years.Last year,the residents of surrounding streets complained to the council about the noise levels,and were determined to have it closed down.The speedway was cancelled for much of the season,tests were done,council meetings held,spleens were vented.Finally,the speedway started up again -with restrictions.The curious things about the whinging were; It had been there 70 years,the residents hadn't ;no complaints were ever made over the numerous rock concerts etc(Rolling Stones and the like) that are held there regularly even though the decibel(sp) levels were higher for concerts than the speedway! While all this debate was going on,one TV station showed footage of one of the main protagonists 'rocking 'away with her family and friends from the comfort of her backyard overlooking the arena which the 'stones were playing at the time.!
