An F.C.United fan Thomas McEldowney has won the prestigious BBC Sports photographer of the year award with 20% of the vote.The clubs official photographer Andy McIntyre also made the short list.The picture that won him the award was a photo of an F.C.United fan celebrating Rory Patterson converting a penalty against Gt.Harwood at Accrington earlier in the year.Thomas said"It was a horrible monday night,with wind,hail & rain.And we were wondering why we bothered to turn up"
"To make matters worse all the pictures didnt seem to have turned out when it come to processing" "It wasn't until a month later when I went back to them that I noticed the picture"
The prize was spending time with a pro photographer at Wimbledon.
