Glad there`s a lot of decent folk around here.
But it`s like it`s been said, there`s so many conmen around the net, hiding behind their keyboard they can be anything and say anything. Don`t let him make you feel guilty. If he was genuine, he would be apologising to you and be totally understanding of your concerns, instead of trying to hide his guilt by making you feel guilty.
You had gut instincts about this guy, gut instincts are usually a good start.
But don`t let people like him destroy your hope, for every con artist there is a wonderful person as well somewhere waiting to be discovered
Just be careful until you are sure though
