I do try to put out my bin the night before, but I will struggle taking it to the bottom of the alley in winter when I get up in the evening. It is really dark in our alley and I am not prepared to risk my personal safety wheeling my bin down there in the dark.

The reason that I was caught out was that I hadn't wheeled my bin down the alley. I was still in my pjs and I left it outside my back yard door until I got dressed. When I went out to shift it a few minutes later, it was gone. I assumed that one of the neighbours had taken it for me but it was probably the bin man.......hence the notice.
