Wasn't it more to do with qualifying for access to the games rather than earning ackers? You had to have so many quality posts before you could play the games in the arcade and the "anything goes" section was for the non serious type posts so didn't count. Mind you so many posts in General these days aren't necessarily serious debate topics either.
