These new/old spuds sound similar to Kumara (sweet potato). They sell them in Asda but I have never bought one. Kumara is the spud that they tend to eat the most in NZ. They make reasonable chips if you can get used to the buttery slightly sweet taste, they are lovely cut into chunks and roasted but the best thing is that they make the most scrummy mash.
