From what I have read, Mr. Lloyd and his team were there as unilaterals rather than embeds. This would have placed them in an even more dangerous position. It is also worthy of note that the enemy often uses vehicles such as ambulances to transport fighters or arms. No officer worth his salt is going to put his men at risk unnecessarily during the height of battle. It is very sad that Terry Lloyd lost his life in this way - but he had to have known how perilous the situation would be before he ever went to cover this war.
