Re: This is the area I'd like to see regenerated.
The area I photographed is almost in the town centre but how many people even know it's there? It has an almost rural look yet it's a tiny little oasis. Think of villages with a village green and a duck pond, think of Hebden Bridge with its central river, think of Downham, think of ducks and then think what Accy could have in that area. We could have our own village green with a river instead of a duck pond. It could be a focal point. It could be a refuge on a nice summer's day. It could be an asset instead of a dumping area for bin bags and a couple of car parks.
I was thinking instead of keep regenerating Broadway till the cows come home maybe they could look at something else the town has to offer.
HBC's idea of regeneration could leave Blackburn Road looking even worse than it does now! We can never go back to the uniformity and appeal of the good solid built stone terraces. We just get a mishmash of different things cropping up at different times and being tagged onto each other.
