I can't test this as I have a fancy Nokia but I saw this on a mobile forum perhaps someone can test it to see if it works?

just to clear up some confusion, you can have your own text alert tune/tone ect, go to settings-profiles-normal-edit-message alert tone-hit centre button and select special tone,hit centre button again and you can choose a tone that you have imported on to your phone. hope this helps, its a great phone but you need to play with it to find all the options , phone booklet could be of more help"
