I didn't see the story, as I spent the last couple of days hallucinating, but that is a very valid point. It's the opposition that came up with the proposal, not the current British government.
Remember that, come the next General Election. The Tories will always be Tories, no matter how they rebrand themselves. Their very ethos is to keep the little people down, so the few can carry on living off the fat of the land.
