Well now it looks more like what accyjay said, the first is a close up of the phospherescent dots of a modern Colour Television tube, (little oblongs) and the second of the phospherescent dots of a year very old fashioned colour television tube which actually gave a very poor colour reproduction anywhere except in the middle 6 or so inches of the screen.
