I think the local NHS trust could save an awful lot of money by getting rid of some of these managers who have nothing better to do than conjure up silly rules like this. Don't tell me thay are going to have a morning dress parade where someone in authority will inspect the workforce for these banned garments.......and if they want staff to wear particular styles of socks then they should be provided as part of the uniform.
I would be far more inclined to agree that no-one should leave the building in uniform unless they have a full length coat to cover up all of the said uniform. In fact when I was employed by this trust...THAT was uniform policy...though I can't say it was ever upheld.
If they are going to discipline members of staff who do not follow the policy, they will soon have their debt problem solved...they will have no nurses to worry about.
