Just a line to let my friends know that my pal Dave passed away peacfully in his sleep at 3.30 this morning. I now feel a sense of relief overpowering the sadness.
I dug out the words I found in my mothers papers after she died about 3 years age. I think they are wonderful.

HOW CAN I LEAVE YOU, THOUGH I KNOW IT,S TIME TO GO.
HOW CAN I LEAVE YOU ,WHEN I LOVE YOU SO.
EVENTIDE IS FALLING, IMUST BE ON MY WAY.
ALL THE WORLD IS CALLING. STILL MY HEART SAYS STAY.

FAITHFULL FOR EVER, MY LOVE WILL BE A STAR.
SHINING FOR EVER, EVERYWHERE YOU ARE.
TENDERLY, BELOVED, KISS ME ONCE MORE. THEN THINK OF ME BELOVED, TILL WE MEET AGAIN.

I know the words dont exactly befit the relationship Dave and I had but the sentiment is the same,

REST IN PEACE PAL. TILL WE MEET AGAIN ONTHE FIRST TEE IN THAT GOLF COURSE IN THE SKY.
