The Old Testament is chock full of either by God's direct hand, or Him ordering the Isrealites, to kill those opposed to the His will. Under the Mosaic Law, violators of the Law were often called to be stoned for what we may find kinda minor infractions.

As I said how do you differentiate between state murder and individual murder? Just because a group of individuals say it's ok to take a life then it's legal?
Death by the state is just as barbarous as death by any other violent means and should be eradicated.
